Privacy policy

What we collect, why, and how you stay in control of your information.

Last updated: 08.11.2026

Who is responsible for the data

The database controller is the Chashmonaim Brigade. This policy covers two sites: the brigade site, and the “I Am a Warrior and a Ben Torah” experience at new.chashmonaim.co.il.

For privacy matters, contact the Brigade Hotline at *3844, the Brigade Hotline on WhatsApp (052-906-2499), or the contact page.

Do you have to give details

You have no legal obligation to give us any details. Providing them depends on your own wish and consent, and you can browse both sites without providing anything.

Without the required fields the form will not be sent, so we will not be able to get back to you through it. Optional fields can stay empty, and the form will still be sent.

What is collected on the brigade site

The site has four forms: the Join window, the Contact form, the Question form on the Q&A page, and the Newsletter form.

Please do not write medical information, ID numbers or other sensitive information in the Notes or Question fields.

IDF personal number and ID number

Both fields are optional. If you choose to fill them in:

  • Use: they are used only by the Brigade Hotline, to match the details to your request.
  • Transfer: they are not passed to any other party.
  • Storage: they are stored technically with a service provider (Google), in a Google Sheet through Google Apps Script, for that purpose only.

What is collected in the experience

The name you type at the entrance

The name is optional. It stays in your browser, where it is shown during the experience and engraved on the tag. It also prefills the name field of the form at the end. It leaves your device only if you choose to send that form.

Motion sensors, vibration and sound

On phones, the experience uses the device orientation sensor to move your view in the rooms. This data stays on the device and is not sent to us or to anyone else. You can decline the permission and the experience keeps working. The experience also uses vibration and sound. It does not use the camera, microphone or location.

The form at the end

The form asks for full name and mobile phone (required), yeshiva or place of study (optional), and what interests you (chosen from a list). Submitting creates a ready WhatsApp message with these details and the role you received in the experience, addressed to the brigade WhatsApp line for the track you chose. The message is sent only if you send it yourself in WhatsApp. This form does not store the details in a sheet or on a server.

How the data is used

  • To get back to you and answer your request or question about the brigade, enlistment and service tracks.
  • To handle your request and track its handling within the brigade.
  • To send the newsletter or marketing updates, only to those who asked for them.

Who receives the data

Beyond the providers listed here, we do not pass your details to any other party.

  • Google: forms on the brigade site are sent through Google Apps Script and stored in a Google Sheet. Google acts here as a storage and processing provider.
  • WhatsApp: if you contact us on WhatsApp, or send the message from the experience, the content passes through the WhatsApp service under its terms.
  • Vercel: the hosting company of both sites. As with any website, hosting servers process technical data such as your IP address in order to serve the pages.
  • cdnjs and jsDelivr: services from which your browser loads code libraries, so they see the technical data of that request.
  • YouTube: embedded videos load from youtube-nocookie.com when you play them, and preview images of some videos may load from YouTube.

Some of these providers operate outside Israel, so data may be stored or processed outside Israel.

How long data is kept

Request details are kept until the person who submitted them asks for their removal, as described under Your rights.

Marketing updates

Receiving marketing updates is a separate checkbox, and it is optional. You can send a form and get a reply from us without ticking it. Consent to be contacted about your request is not consent to receive mailings.

You can stop receiving updates at any time, free of charge: by the method shown in the mailing, by replying through the channel it was sent on, or by contacting the Brigade Hotline at *3844, the Brigade Hotline on WhatsApp (052-906-2499), or the contact page.

Cookies and analytics

The sites’ own code does not create cookies. For the sites to work, a few technical markers are kept in your browser: when the window inviting you to the experience was shown, page transitions, and, in the experience, the mute setting. These stay on your device and are not sent to us. You can delete them in your browser settings.

If the Google Analytics measurement tool is enabled on the site, it runs only after you have given your consent. Without consent it does not run, and you can keep browsing as usual.

Security

Forms are sent over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and the sheet is not open to the public. No measure guarantees complete protection, so please provide only what your request needs.

If you are under 18

The forms do not ask for your age. If you are under 18, we recommend involving a parent or guardian before providing details. A parent or guardian can contact us with any of the requests in the next section.

Your rights

  • Access: to inspect the data held about you, yourself, through a person you authorized in writing, or through a guardian (section 13 of the Israeli Privacy Protection Law, 1981).
  • Correction: to ask us to correct data that is inaccurate, incomplete, unclear or out of date (section 14).
  • Deletion: to ask us to delete such data (section 14), to demand removal from a mailing list (section 17F), and to ask us to delete a request you sent through the site.

How to make a request: contact the Brigade Hotline at *3844, the Brigade Hotline on WhatsApp (052-906-2499), or the contact page, and state your name, mobile number and what you are asking for. We may ask to verify your identity before handling it. These rights are subject to the law and its exceptions, and we will let you know our answer.

You can also contact the Israeli Privacy Protection Authority.

Changes to this policy

We will update this policy when the collection or use of data changes. The date of the latest update appears at the top of this page.
