A Significant Partnership for the Brigade: Col. Shemer Raviv Visits the Charedi Hesder Yeshiva “Barkai”

Today, the Commander of the Chashmonaim Brigade, Col. Shemer Raviv, paid a unique and meaningful visit to the Charedi hesder yeshiva “Barkai” in Hispin, led by its Rosh Yeshiva, Rabbi Avraham Bordiansky, shlita.

The professional visit held today in Hispin laid the groundwork for a long-term connection, aimed at integrating the yeshiva’s students into a range of combat and combat support roles in the Chashmonaim Brigade, while fully protecting their way of life and their values.
The visit was devoted to getting to know one another in depth, to a direct conversation between the Brigade Commander and the yeshiva students, and to a productive professional meeting with the yeshiva’s leadership. In an open and positive atmosphere, practical ways of creating close cooperation were discussed, and at the end of the meeting an outline was agreed upon for a lasting, long-term connection between the yeshiva and the brigade.

The connection born today rests on a partnership of values and a shared mission, with the aim that, with God’s help, the yeshiva’s students will take part in meaningful service in the Chashmonaim Brigade.
The joint program is designed to open a wide range of options to the young men, from combat tracks at the front to key roles in the brigade’s combat support system. This stems from the professional understanding that the key to success lies in creating a close support framework that allows each young man to realize his abilities while fully preserving his identity, his way of life and the values he brings from home.
“We found here a deep partnership of values and a genuine desire to build something stable and right,” the participants said in summing up the meeting. “This connection will allow the young men to contribute in the most professional way, both as combat soldiers and as combat support personnel, within a military framework that suits them fully and respectfully.”

From Concept to Execution: Building Trust on the Ground
The visit to Yeshivat Barkai is no isolated event. It reflects a broad strategic move and in-depth staff work that the brigade is carrying out with rabbis and heads of institutions in the Charedi community.
The brigade expressed great satisfaction with the practical and warm spirit that prevailed today in Hispin, noting that the professional connection that has taken shape will, with God’s help, prove itself in the near future.
