Under 91st Division Command: Chashmonaim Combat Soldiers Conclude Half a Year of Operations in Southern Lebanon and Head Out for Refreshment
In a moving ceremony under the command of the 91st Division, combat soldiers of the Yonatan Battalion of the Chashmonaim Brigade this week concluded a complex operational chapter rich in achievements: six consecutive months of intense fighting and of defensive and offensive missions in the southern Lebanon area. The soldiers, who operated under Brigades 300 and 679, are now completing their time on the line and heading out for a period of refreshment and renewed readiness.
Operational Achievements on the Northern Front
Over the past six months, the battalion carried out a series of complex missions deep in enemy territory. The forces worked to defend the border communities, located and destroyed Hezbollah terror infrastructure and weapons depots, exposed underground shafts and neutralized loaded launchers aimed at the territory of the State of Israel. The battalion also took an active part in enforcing the ceasefire agreement in the sector. All of this activity was accompanied by constant operational learning, firm determination and a drive to engage the enemy.

At the special event marking the end of its activity in the sector, the commander of the Galilee Formation (91st Division), Brig. Gen. Yuval Gaz, spoke and praised the battalion’s impressive record:
“Yonatan Battalion, the victory is yours. You established a battalion at record speed, a process that usually takes many years, from founding a battalion to its maturing for combat. You covered that entire distance within a year and a half, including entering combat and proving your operational ability in the field. You know how to combine great faith with uncompromising professionalism: that is your strength! And because of it you were placed, over the past half year, at the forefront of the struggle against the terror organization Hezbollah, to defend the People of Israel and the Land of Israel, with determination, with professionalism and with great faith in the justice of our path.”
Looking Ahead: Battalion Training and Spiritual Strengthening
During the refreshment period, the combat soldiers of the Yonatan Battalion will hold a comprehensive battalion exercise to maintain their operational level and sharpen their tactical readiness. Alongside military training, significant time will be devoted to fixed study sessions, study days and meetings with rabbis, giving the soldiers room for spiritual growth, for processing their operational experiences and for fortifying their Torah identity, ahead of their return to the next missions at the front.
